Also the insurance license and series 7 training and certification would be nice to know, and I'm only interested in brick and mortar institutions and not online schools.

There are indeed some brick and mortar schools that offer a series 7, 6, 63, 66 and group 1 license training. I believe Kaplan university has a location in Houston, and they do that kind of training there. But you can get trained all you want but unfortunately you cannot get certified unless you're sponsored by an organization (insurance, investment, bank, etc). It's just part of FINRA laws. Good luck.

There are many small exam prep providers that offer live classes in various parts of the country. However, you are probably best served by looking to a national provider that specializes in FINRA exam prep and authors & updates there own materials. One such vendor is The Securities Institute @ http://www.SecuritiesExamPrep.com. They hold traditional live classes in select cities and also offer live, virtual classes and onDemand classes as well.
