Come on man...Do you honestly HONESTLY expect ANYONE on here to know that answer? Odds are that none of the people that frequent the tennis section on Yahoo live in Houston, Texas. I'd be willing to put money on it. That being said, most high schools play tennis in the spring sports season, but I have heard of some playing in the fall. You are going to have much more luck asking someone who actually goes to one of these private schools in Spring Branch. Good luck...

its in the spring. depending on the school though you might have a couple of tournaments in the fall but your actual season is in the spring.

For middle school, St. John's, Kincaid, Lanier (public), River Oaks Bapist, and Village School compete in March and April. The private Houston area high schools play from about February to May.

Sorry David, there are no private school scholarships but there may be free tuition given to a few children each year at that school if the child is a minority, poor and an exceptional student. Have your parents check into that..........they have to have to offer free tuition to underprivileged children.

Can someone give me information on Spring Banch Independent School District in Houston, Texas?
I'm a teacher that is looking to move to the Houston area next school term. I don't want to live too far from downtown but would like to teach in a fairly good area (I currently teach in a very depressed school and region). I like the location of the Spring Branch District. However, I have seen good and bad things about the district. What information can you all give? Thanks in advance.

You can get a lot of good information on Spring Branch ISD from the Texas Education Agengy (TEA) website (below). Click on "Accountability" and select in particular the first two categories (AEIS and Accountability Ratings). The Houston Chronicle also just ran a special section on local school ratings. You might be able to access it online at the Chronicle's website. One note: if you plan to work in Spring Branch, I wouldn't recommend living near downtown, since that would be a terrible commute twice a day down I-10 or Memorial Drive. There is a lot of excellent and affordable housing in the Spring Branch area; I'd recommend checking out local real estate listings.

The good things about the district are south of I-10. The bad things are north of I-10. I realize you may have no input as to where you teach, but the south side definitely beats the "north of the tracks" area, as we used to call it. Oh, and you don't want to live near downtown and teach in SBISD. The traffic would be a bear. If you relish hourlong commutes then fine...

I think so. Of course, everything is relative, but it's one of the best schools around. It has everything - strong academics, strong sports teams, strong fine arts. It's safe and clean, too.

I really like TSU but I need to be able to work full time and would go to school part-time in the evenings. TSU does not offer part-time classes in the evening and UOH does. Does any one know if there are classes during the summer if one wanted to go classes all year round? Any advise or insight here is welcomed!

looking on the internet for acting classes in Texas would be a good start. and just carry on from there.

Houston is not a good place to become a professional actor as there are very few opportunities for actors there. To start you do not go to class, you get into amateur plays at school and in the community.

Im 19 years old trying to get my diploma cause I had dropped out of school. I'm looking for the cheapest one their is in Houston Texas the most I want to spend is about $150. If you know of any that are home schooled an accredited please let me know. And please no scams

I doubt you re going to find an accredited diploma program for $150. The least expensive accredited homeschool high school programs I know of run about $1200. If you need a quick and inexpensive option, check with your local Dept of Ed to see if they have an adult education program. Also check with local community colleges to see what they have to offer.

I think your budget may make this hard to find. But will say that Penn Foster does let you pay payment on there program. My son is half way done with it and it seems to be a good program.

I am interested in becoming a dental technician (not dental assistant), but I am having a hard time finding a school in Houston, Texas that will teach me. Can anyone help me please? =(

Perhaps the county vo-tech school or even community college (perhaps non-credit course) would have such a program. Please forgo those private $$ career schools. One may learn about dental lab technology while in school for dental assistant if unable to find that specific program. For general career info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search 'medical, dental and opthalmic laboratory technicians' or such.

($50k and up) And then there is Dental Assistant which only requires a certificate that takes about 9 months to complete. The pay is pretty low...about $9 hr to start. But try a community college...I'm sure a counselor can help you.

It is "homeschooling" online. You don't have to do anything teaching wise, there are teachers who do everything for you. I am cyber schooled, and it is the best decision my parents and I could have made. Depending on how old your children are, they may still need essential social skills. Homeschooling somewhat isolates them from others, and they are not able to develope good skills with others. The cyber school that I am in has chatrooms that you can interact with other students and your teachers. We even have field trips, prom, and a graduation ceremony. All cyber schools are different, but most are basically run the same. It is just like attending a brick and mortar school, just in the comfort of your home, and your own schedule. There are low cost schools (mines free!), so you wouldn't have to worry about that. They gave me a computer, and all the accessories, books, and even pay for my internet and my parent's internet. It is really worth looking into! Good luck finding a school for your kids! 7 You are very lucky you live in Texas (so do we). Texas is one of the easiest places to homeschool because the requirements are non-existent. All you need to do is send a letter of withdrawal (via registered mail - receipt requested) to the school(s) your children attend. THSC has a sample letter on their website. You do NOT need to go to the school or fill out any of their paperwork. I'm a certain that there are MANY homeschooling groups in Houston. You should do a search for "homeschool" and your particular area of Houston (Katy, Clear Lake, etc.) THSC lists one main support group in Houston (see link below). If you need any further info on homeschooling in Texas, feel free to email me. Houston Home School Association puts on an event in early June that has all of the resources that you need. All of the testbook publishers are there and you can talk to them. I went for a couple of years and it was really cool. I love to read so I really enjoyed seeing what our kids were going to learn about. My wife did all of the teaching though. What is the better law school in Houston Texas. Is it Texas Southern University or University of Houston?
I really like TSU but I need to be able to work full time and would go to school part-time in the evenings. TSU does not offer part-time classes in the evening and UOH does. Does any one know if there are classes during the summer if one wanted to go classes all year round? Any advise or insight here is welcomed!

UH has a much better reputation. Their health law program is nationally recognized. I cannot advise you on availabilty of classes; but I have been told in the last years you would need to go fulltime to sucessfully complete this program.

This might help. According to the U.S. News Best Graduate Schools of 2007 UH is ranked number 73 out of the top 100 schools in the US and is ranked #5 in the field of Intellectual Property Law. Tex So. U is a fourth tier school, meaning that it is not that good of a school. There is no specific rank number. But, I recommend going to the higher ranked school. You might have a better chance of getting into a good Law Firm. I suggest you do some research to find out some info about each of the schools before you apply. My sister happens to be graduating from Law School this May, and from what I heard and seen you really do not have time to work. The work load in law school is much different than undergrad work load. But if you can pull if off, kudos to you. I would look into scholarships and grants. There are many organizations out there that give out scholarships, so take advantage of that. Look into it, who knows how much money you can get? Best of luck to you in you endeavors.
