looking on the internet for acting classes in Texas would be a good start. and just carry on from there.

Houston is not a good place to become a professional actor as there are very few opportunities for actors there. To start you do not go to class, you get into amateur plays at school and in the community.

I doubt you re going to find an accredited diploma program for $150. The least expensive accredited homeschool high school programs I know of run about $1200. If you need a quick and inexpensive option, check with your local Dept of Ed to see if they have an adult education program. Also check with local community colleges to see what they have to offer.

I think your budget may make this hard to find. But will say that Penn Foster does let you pay payment on there program. My son is half way done with it and it seems to be a good program.

Perhaps the county vo-tech school or even community college (perhaps non-credit course) would have such a program. Please forgo those private $$ career schools. One may learn about dental lab technology while in school for dental assistant if unable to find that specific program. For general career info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search 'medical, dental and opthalmic laboratory technicians' or such.

What's the deference? I know there is Dental Hygienist which requires a two year degree and pays really well. ($50k and up) And then there is Dental Assistant which only requires a certificate that takes about 9 months to complete. The pay is pretty low...about $9 hr to start. But try a community college...I'm sure a counselor can help you.

There are lots of females coaching track and field in Texas, and in Houston. If you mean females coaching boys rather than girls there are a few.

If you are planning on homeschooling starting in the fall, there's nothing you need to do! Just homeschool as you see fit. If you are pulling them, check a homeschool support group site for Texas for recommendations on a letter to provide to the school.

I wouldn't recommend homeschooling, but instead try charter school. It is "homeschooling" online. You don't have to do anything teaching wise, there are teachers who do everything for you. I am cyber schooled, and it is the best decision my parents and I could have made. Depending on how old your children are, they may still need essential social skills. Homeschooling somewhat isolates them from others, and they are not able to develope good skills with others. The cyber school that I am in has chatrooms that you can interact with other students and your teachers. We even have field trips, prom, and a graduation ceremony. All cyber schools are different, but most are basically run the same. It is just like attending a brick and mortar school, just in the comfort of your home, and your own schedule. There are low cost schools (mines free!), so you wouldn't have to worry about that. They gave me a computer, and all the accessories, books, and even pay for my internet and my parent's internet. It is really worth looking into! Good luck finding a school for your kids!

You are very lucky you live in Texas (so do we). Texas is one of the easiest places to homeschool because the requirements are non-existent. All you need to do is send a letter of withdrawal (via registered mail - receipt requested) to the school(s) your children attend. THSC has a sample letter on their website. You do NOT need to go to the school or fill out any of their paperwork. I'm a certain that there are MANY homeschooling groups in Houston. You should do a search for "homeschool" and your particular area of Houston (Katy, Clear Lake, etc.) THSC lists one main support group in Houston (see link below). If you need any further info on homeschooling in Texas, feel free to email me. Best wishes!

http://www.hslda.org/ is probably the best place to get the information about legal requirements and so forth. (Except maybe the one that the person directly above me put on!) Vision Forum is a company dedicated to the restoration of the Christian family and has some of the best homeschooling material you can find anywhere. They're located in San Antonio (about a 3 hour drive from Houston). http://www.visionforum.com/ is the bookstore. http://www.visionforum.org/ is their ministries page. One of the best books to get you started would be "Safely Home", by Tom Eldredge. (It's available at Vision Forum) Steven and Teri Maxwell also have a lot of great information on homeschooling. http://www.titus2.com/ http://www.nogreaterjoy.org/ is another great one! God Bless!

Just do it. No need to legally do anything. Just inform the district as such and preto. You do need to settle on what kind of curicullum to use. We did Bob Jones and A-Beka. If the school is dragging you kid down. I'd go it and don't look back. There are alot of support groups out there that you can network with. Houston Home School Association puts on an event in early June that has all of the resources that you need. All of the testbook publishers are there and you can talk to them. I went for a couple of years and it was really cool. I love to read so I really enjoyed seeing what our kids were going to learn about. My wife did all of the teaching though. I supported her morally as well as reading to our kids at night and helping them read and with their work when needed. It's kinda cool.

I always recommend Motorcycle Safety Foundation classes. Not only are they thorough and hands-on, but most states take their certificate of graduation in place of the riding requirement for the license exam. Find one near you : http://nm.msf-usa.org/msf/ridercourses.aspx?state=TX

The Harley-Davison dealerships have a MSF approved course called "Riders Edge" that is good. It costs more than the regular MSF course that are taught on college campuses, but it's easier to get a slot as the MSF courses have limited number of classes and a max number of students.
