You wont want to be in the inner city. We call it inside the "loop" My husband is a teacher and coach for Houston ISD. I would NEVER in a million years send my kid to a Houston ISD school. There are fights, gangs, racial tension...it's bad. The better districts are outside the general city area.. Ex. Ft Bend ISD, Humble ISD, Conroe, Cypress-Fairbanks, Pearland) Those all offer exceptional schools. Look in to the area north east of town. There are a couple of great neighborhoods such as Summerwood and Fall Creek which have newer school facilities and are convenient to downtown. Both those neighborhoods feed in to the Humble ISD system.

I agree with Nicole...Me personally I don't like none of the public schools..Have you been watching the news with the teachers at the ISD schools...very crazy. Then the students well I have no comment but I agree with Nicole 100%..We will be moving away from Houston at the end of the year to send our son to a private school in Kansas..Good luck on your search
